Who We Are Welcome to Hands On Ogeechee, a volunteer administration service and program of Community Centered Foundation. We are here to inspire and mobilize people to become engaged, take action and solve community problems. Hands On Ogeechee is an affiliate of Hands On Georgia, the growing network of nearly 20 affiliates changing communities in the state and member of the Points of Light & Hands On Network. Hands On Georgia affiliates create and manage hundreds of projects each year, from building wheelchair ramps in Thomas County to teaching reading in Dalton, to rebuilding homes and lives in the coastal communities of Savannah. Our Mission Hands On Ogeechee brings people together to strengthen communities through meaningful volunteer action. Based in Statesboro, Hands On Ogeechee (HOO) serves as a premiere hub for volunteer activity and community building in Southeast Georgia. As a volunteer and civic action center, HOO, its volunteer members and community partners will help people to be the change they want to see in their communities. What We Do The Hands On Approach delivers proven results in small and large communities across the nation and increasingly around the world. » Providing a Starting Point: We offer a place for individuals to begin their journey to make a difference and become effective volunteers, making it simple for them to choose from a variety of projects that connect community needs with their time and interests. » Equipping Citizen Leaders: We cultivate and train volunteers to lead other volunteers, creating enormous capacity for civic change. » Structuring a Meaningful Experience: We work in partnership with local organizations in our affiliate communities to create Hands On service projects that are fun and well-managed and produce tangible benefits. » Joining Together to Make a Difference: We enlist a corps of thousands of volunteers who join forces to address community needs statewide. Hands On affiliates mobilize individuals to work together, creating camaraderie and momentum for continued action. » A Pathway to Greater Participation: We provide the foundation and tools for individuals to transform their direct service act to running for the school board.
