World Class Cycling Comes to the Boro
on Earth Day — April 22nd
The 2008 Tour de Georgia presented by AT&T will
feature four UCI Pro
Tour squads, including the No.1 ranked Team CSC. Georgia once again
welcomes a world-class, international field to the six-day, 660-plus-mile
race across the state. Riders will race from the salty marshes and
ocean
shoreline of the Georgia coast to the majestic skyline of the Blue
Ridge
Mountains during the sixth annual Tour de Georgia that ends in Centennial
Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta.
Along the way, Statesboro will host 120 cyclists and
their crews representing 25 countries, as well as an event support
team of hundreds, and upwards of 10,000 visiting spectators and
cycling enthusiasts.
